Stage Three: Example
Imagine a grocery store of the future, where upon taking a can of soup from the shelve inventory is automatically updated. If the inventory on a shelf falls below a pre-defined threshold, and there is enough inventory in the building, the stockers are notified.
If there is not enough inventory, the computer system may be configured to automatically query the inventory of suppliers. If the application has permission it will automatically negotiate with suppliers for the best delivery date and the lowest price. If the application does not it will notify the buyer with any information retrieved.
